Substack, the platform that I use to send this newsletter out to you is going to be dropping a video feature soon and will allow creators like me to add video-based content in addition to everything I already share with you.
Question: If I did create videos what would you want to see? I have a couple of ideas already but would LOVE to hear from you!

📖 a read
One of my fellow Ship 30 for 30 cohort mates Nathan, has been writing some great short essays over the last few weeks, but this one particularly caught my attention and I wanted to share it with you all! Double dipping on the quotes today.
I personally loved the first reflection on being so much more than “just …” In the podcast that I shared last week from Crossway, David Murray said, People can garden, drive their car, etc all to the glory of God.
We all have purpose even if its, “just…” (fill in the blank)
📱a watch
*SPOILERS ALERT*Jon McCray AKA Whaddo You Meme, has become one of my favorite Christian YouTubers who always bring a deep yet digestible take on all kinds of topics and he does it in short periods of time. Last week I shared Marvel’s Moon Knight Trailer and stumbled upon his review of Spider Man No Way Home shortly after.
It’s awesome to see connections to God in everyday life. It’s beautiful actually.

Two very good friends of mine Joe and Alfonso have successfully launched a unique new gaming and pop-culture podcast called Status Effect. Here’s the premise of the show from the guys:
“Ready to share their insights, passions, & knowledge, these two focus on the emotions that are created, when experiencing some of the greatest titles of all time. Quick with a laugh, and faster with a debate, sit-in on some of the most thought provoking dialogue surrounding the industry. The term status effect can be applied both to changes that provide a character an advantage, and those that hinder the character. They will share both their status's on the topics of discussion, as well as listeners with live discussion and email questions! Be part of Gaming's newest podcast, and let us find out: What's Your Status?”
I particularly loved their 2nd Episode on achieving all accomplishments in games. It definitely tapped some inner nostalgia of gaming as a kid. I’m not into gaming anymore but they are such down to earth speakers that it makes me feel like I’m taking a road trip with 2 good friends and I’m tuning in to some interesting conversation. I highly encourage you to check them out!
They are currently celebrating hitting the milestone of 1,000 downloads which is a huge accomplishment for such a young podcast! To celebrate they are doing a unique giveaway! Listen to their most recent episode here.

🍴a bite
This one isn’t a recipe but a reheat.
Up until a few weeks back, I like most people would reheat my leftover pizza in the oven, and more recently I’d use the magical air fryer pizza setting(I have this one. It has literally replaced my microwave).
I ended up stumbling upon this video Instagram chef @omnivorousadam posted on how he reheats leftover pizza in a skillet.
GAME CHANGER 🤯
All you need to do is preheat your skillet on medium-ish heat put your pizza in face-down (this is key) and if possible press it down. It only takes like 2-3 minutes total and it is well worth it. The cheese gets like a cheez-it and toast and its enough to heat it through/
I did it with some leftover pepperoni slices and topped it with parm and fresh basil. It was fuego(fire)!
Please try this. If you do let me know on Instagram and I’ll post it to my story and give you a shout out!

Here is a peculiar statistic I stumbled upon while glancing over at a book a man was reading next to me at Barnes and Nobles:
“The average person will spend half a year looking for a misplaced item.”
Didn’t manage to get the book title but defintely piqued my mind’s taste buds. Figured I’d share it with you.
26 weeks huh? Pretty bizarre to think about. Wonder if this carries any deeper implications about our forgetfulness. I wonder, what might a statistic look like for those who actually find what they’re looking for?
🗯a quote
“We need to view God for who he is, not who we want him to be.”
–Cecil Bean
Sourced from Andrew Shroud’s Newsletter Disciple Notes.
This is a beautiful quote
🍞a verse
God has been reminding me daily of His presence. He is a VERY present help in trouble. He has been for me. I’m off to a bumpy start to the new year but through it I’ve drawn closer to God more than ever before. I’m grateful for it.
“Though” jumps off the page at me.
Even though you and I face what we face and circumstances are grim and storms are rising, we have a safe refuge as our God and Father. Remember that.

When you’re in the fog of a circumstance, it’s hard to see what’s right in front of you.

Take a step back and consider that God sees you. He sees all.

He is El Roi the God who sees.”
Way to get it sent brother!
