Issue #4-Beginner Workout, Tomato Soup, Moon Knight Trailer, Metamorphosis & more!
Shooting for that consistency I promised. The next step is getting it down to a scheduled time in advance like the daily paper that’d get tossed in your front lawn at 7:00 am sharp back in the day. But I hope you all are having a great month so far. To think January has basically come and gone makes my brain hurt.
Anywho. Some good finds this week. Hope you all enjoy it. Would love it you’d drop a comment even if it’s just to “Hey! 👋” Nevertheless, I’m grateful to each and every one of you for even signing up for this cooky project of mine. Y’all are my day ones.
Have a blessed week. Happy Sandwiches 🥪

The Beginner Bodyweight Workout: 20-Minute Routine To Do At Home or Anywhere! by: Nerd Fitness
This one is both a read and a do. I’ve been in a sedentary rut. Because I haven't consistently exercised in well over a year. Deep down though I know, you know, and we know we should be moving in some way shape, or form. If any of you are like me here’s a beginner’s workout to get started. Some movement is better than no movement. I’m gonna give this a try next week and will report but with my aching report. They even added a nifty image of the workout. 👇
Big shout out to them for looking out for the average-Reggies of the world.
📱a watch
Marvel just released the official trailer to their next series titled Moon Knight. I remember playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance when I was younger on my X-Box 360 and loving to play with Moon Knight cause I thought he looked cool. Love to see his character come to life.
I recently watched Eternals this week on Disney+ and it’s super interesting the direction Marvel is heading with some of these darker characters or anti-heros as some would call them. I’m just wondering what this is all building up to? Who will be the next Thanos in this next phase. It took 10+ years to develop the Infinity Stones Arc, I just feel like that was such a big climax and high bar they set and I don’t want to see them rush into the next.
What are your thoughts? Are any of you Marvel fans?

The Crossway Podcast: A Realistic Approach to New Year’s Resolutions ft. David Murray
Airr / Apple Podcasts / Spotify
This was a great listen. I don’t often share podcasts because I’m not very good with audio-only formats but this was well worth the time and David Murray provides tons of rubber-to-road advice. We can often take on way more than we can chew. He provides both a biblical and practical approach to focusing on 1 major goal.
I have tons of goals this year (clearly I need to re-listen to the podcast) but the major one is to grow in my prayer life.
🍴a bite
This is my third time making a Tomato Soup from scratch. The first time around my wife was craving a tomato soup with grilled cheese on the side, and I quickly jumped at the opportunity to surprise her with what she wanted. It’s just a few ingredients and will serve 3. The one tool that’d be useful for this soup is a hand-blender(aka immersion blender) Here’s one you can check out. If not you can also blend the soup just be very careful when blending hot liquids in a blender. Here’s a video from America’s Test Kitchen on how to blend it. I like my soup a little more chunky but make it as smooth or as thick as you’d like.
Ingredients :
1 28oz Can of Whole Tomatoes (if you can get your hands on San Marzano Tomatoes, even better)
1 small-medium onion, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
A bunch(5 or so) of fresh basil leaves, chopped and the stems removed and separated
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1-2 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, grated
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon white vinegar
Salt and Pepper to taste
*If you’d like to add a bit of spice add crushed red pepper flakes to your liking
Instructions:
Add the oil, minced garlic, optional red pepper flakes, and basil stems over medium to medium-low heat. You don’t want burnt garlic, keep an eye on it.
When fragrant and begins to slightly change color add chopped onion. Stir frequently. You want to get the onions translucent (this is called sweating). Add the tomato paste and oregano and incorporate. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the can of tomatoes. Use a wooden spoon or potato masher to crush the tomatoes. Cover and lower heat to medium-low keep at a simmer.
Uncover and stir every couple of minutes to prevent burning. Let simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add sugar and vinegar.
Add 1/2 of the basil and all of the cheese.
Remove from the heat and use immersion blender’s lowest setting and pulse by pressing 1 second at a time until desired consistency.
Add the rest of the basil. Serve with grilled cheese. Top with more parm. Enjoy!
Want a grilled cheese recipe? Let me know!

Just stop and ponder metamorphosis for sec. From a tiny egg it takes a month for it to become a this full grown beautiful butterfly. But in order to get there the chrysalis stage cannot be skipped. Where the caterpillar goes dormant, and sits still as its wings develop. The middle is tough. But we gotta go through it to get to the finale.
🗯a quote
I recently discovered an author by the name of Austin Kleon, who is best known for his book series on the creative process called “Steal Like An Artist”, “Show Your Work”, and “Keep Going” (which are all on sale on Amazon currently). I recently purchased Steal Like An Artist and literally the first page you read,
“Art Is Theft.” -Pablo Picasso
Just thinking that for someone with the artistic impact of Picasso to say that is kinda mind-blowing. There’s nothing new under the sun and so instead of denying it why not embrace it and be intentional about doing so. That’s what I do here on this newsletter if you think about it, I’m not the creator but the curator. The way that all these links, photos, audio clips, verses, recipes collide is via Reggie as the medium and that’s what makes it unique. It’s the same idea with music playlists. It’s not like your the producer and artist behind each song but you’ve curated the different songs together to create a collective playlist. Austin is a big inspiration for me and it definitely won’t be the last time I steal like an artist.
🍞a verse
This verse has given me such a peace in the last 24 hours. The Lord IS my confidence therefore I can walk securely, I can lie down and not be afraid , and even in the face of student terror I don’t need to bow down to fear.
P.S-I’ve been making these verse images (last weeks also) with photos I’ve taken. Feel free to screenshot, save, share. By all means. This ain’t no NFT.

Here’s my most recent Instagram post coining a new phrase. It may appear at first glance to be taking shots at Forrest Gump. I’m not but I am. You may not know what you’re gonna get but you can take the ingredients you’ve got and make a Thought Full Sandwich. Follow along.
See Y'all Next Week. Grace and Peace ✌️
