Got 2-3 minutes to spare?
This quick read can shine the light on how to practically redeem back hours of your time.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:15-16
The last two years have been nothing short of a blur. Tracking what's happening and when is a pivot that can unlock untapped efficiency in our daily lives.
🗓Plan Ahead. Stay On Time.
Sitting down 10-15 minutes every night to take a look at your upcoming tasks, calendar events, and daily objectives.
This saves you from scrambling in the morning trying to figure out where to begin.
🧱Block It. Schedule It. Do It.
Grab/open your calendar. Start by blocking recurring/fixed activities (work schedule, morning routines, school schedule, church, etc.)
I also like adding sleep, Bible study, daily writing hours. Now that you have all your fixed activities, find the gaps and fill them in.
You've now made time.
🍅Pomodoro. Get Saucy.
Try working in bursts of 25 minutes and incorporating 5-minute breaks after each session.
After 3-4 sessions take a 10-minute break.
Turns scaling the mountain into climbing it one hill at a time.
🛤G.A.P Method
This is a simple yet practical weekly planning method that I've adapted from YouTuber Matt Ragland. (Check out the video here on how he plans the year.)
This can be done digital or analog, Matt chooses the mighty Bullet Journal for his planning.
Goal: What do you want to accomplish?(Ex:Write 7 Atomic Essays)
Actions: What actions do I need to take?(Ex:Brainstorm, Research, Outline, Write it, Ship It)
Protect: When will I make the time to do this?(Ex:Brainstorm/Research 1.5 hours on Friday @2PM, Outline 20 minutes daily @11AM, Write 1 hour daily @12PM)
📓Daily Objectives
I for one can testify feeling the sheer overwhelm of glancing at all the to-dos in my task manager.
Got over this by choosing 1-2 objectives that will be my priority for the day. Once my objectives are done, the rest is sprinkles on top.
Question: What are the things that help you manage your time wisely?
