12 Things You Need To Start Living A Thought-Full Life
Life Is Not Like A Box Of Chocolates. It's More Like A Sandwich. Are You Crafting Yours?
I’ve learned a lot since starting this newsletter. I’m grateful to God for giving me this concept of A Thought Full Sandwich. I believe it captures quite well my aim and passion. Learning how to navigate life like sandwich making. Thoughtfully. That’s the best way to describe it. But who knows maybe it makes sense to nobody, maybe it does. I’m gonna keep at it though and see it through.
These were a number of things I thought would be important parts of living thoughtfully. This definitely ain’t an all-encompassing list and there are things on here that aren’t needs or musts, just things to consider with me. This is the second of my Atomic Essays on this topic. Following will be a sliver perspective of each of these things. There will eventually be deeper dives into each. This is just the beginning. Enjoy!
1-☑️A Task Manager
How do you plan on getting things done? Where will you go to see the actionable items that need doing? It doesn't matter if it's on a slab of glass or a slab of rock. Jot it down, get it done.
2-🗓A Time Manager
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:15-16
The last two years have been nothing short of a blur. Tracking what's happening and when is a pivot that can unlock untapped efficiency in our daily lives.
3-🗒An Information Manager
“Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.” – David Allen
Learn something new every day, right? Find a frictionless way to capture anything that resonates with you that might be useful to your future self.
4-🌅A Morning Routine
What you do in the first hour(s) of your day can compound into a flow of consistency. It also starts your day with a productive win and gets the ball rolling.
5-👨🍳A Meal Plan
You are what you eat, just kidding. No really though. The food we eat provides the materials our bodies need to function properly. We can impact the health of our bodies through cooking with quality ingredients, all while eating good food in the process.
6-👟An Exercise Plan
We were NOT created to be sedentary creatures. Movement and resistance are necessary for growth and good health. Hand in hand with #5🤝.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
7-🎯Goals
Where are you going? What do you want to accomplish? Why? When do you want it done? You want to be aiming for some type of target otherwise you'll be shooting in the dark.
8-🙏Spiritual Disciplines
There are spiritual rhythms God desires for His people to participate in not for His sake but for ours and others. These are the means of grace by which we are transformed. Daily Devotional, Prayer, Congregating/Fellowship, Worship, and Bible Reading.
9-🧮A Finance Plan
We can't allow money to be our masters. We don't need to make 6 figures to obtain financial freedom. There are very practical things that we can implement to gain control over our finances. If we can faithful stewards with a little we can be put over much.
10-📚A Reading Plan
We have a smörgåsbord of information that we have access to at any given moment. It's quite mind-blowing if you take a moment to think about it. But because there is such a surplus, it should be all the more reason to curate what we read.
11-🐦A Social Blog
Begin a daily writing/publishing habit in public. This definitely isn’t a must by any means just one to consider if you’re looking to grow creatively and are looking to share your ideas with others. It can definitely be daunting but I can already feel the impact this has had on my thinking, writing, online presence, consistency, and I don't even know what else yet!
12-❤️🔥Passion/Learning
Find something to learn, to develop, to practice, to master, to share, and to teach. You can then potentially monetize your passion and who knows where it can take you. Discover this by doing #11☝️.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
